As an associate attorney at Murphy, Falcon & Murphy, Jon Stefanuca is actively involved in a variety of cases involving complex medical malpractice, catastrophic personal injury, civil rights violations, and other general litigation claims for clients in Baltimore and throughout the country.
Mr. Stefanuca’s legal approach is grounded in the notion that creativity, diligence, and perseverance are key to formulating holistic legal solutions for the immediate and long-term needs of the firm’s clients.
Mr. Stefanuca has extensive experience as an attorney working with cases involving catastrophic personal injury claims and complex medical malpractice claims. Unlike most attorneys in these fields, Mr. Stefanuca has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants. For a number of years, he represented MedStar Health, a $4 billion health care system in the Baltimore area with a network of nine hospitals and twenty other health-related businesses across Maryland and the Washington, D.C. region. In 2011 and 2012, Mr. Stefanuca was named “Rising Star” by Maryland Super Lawyers magazine. He is a member of the Maryland Association for Justice, the Bar Association of Baltimore City, D.C. Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Bar Association.

Prior to joining this firm, Mr. Stefanuca was an associate attorney at Nash & Associates, LLC where he litigated a diverse range of medical malpractice and catastrophic personal injury claims. Before Nash & Associates, LLC, Mr. Stefanuca served a judicial clerkship for the Honorable W. Michel Pierson, Circuit Court Judge of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. As a law student, he clerked for Whiteford, Taylor & Preston, LLP and Glaser & Solomon, LLC.
Mr. Stefanuca’s greatest honor is being part of his family.
Mr. Stefanuca graduated magna cum laude from Towson University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics. As an undergraduate student, Mr. Stefanuca was the first recipient of the Towson International Debate Scholarship. He was the president of the university’s forensics team and one of the original founders, as well as the executive director, of Baltimore’s first urban middle school debate league.
Mr. Stefanuca graduated with honors from University of Maryland School of Law. While in law school, he served as the Articles Editor on the Board of the Maryland Law Journal of Race, Religion, Gender, and Class. He was also admitted as a member of the school’s Moot Court Board. As a student attorney, Mr. Stefanuca represented a number of community organizations in the Economic Housing and Community Development Law Clinic, and he received a Special Achievement Award for his work in the Law Clinic. During his first year of law school, he was recognized for his achievements in Legal Methods and Advocacy by Widener University School of Law.
Mr. Stefanuca lives with his wife and son in the Baltimore area. Occasionally, he has to mediate disputes between his boxer and Siamese cat.
Among friends, Mr. Stefanuca is known for his winemaking and painting skills. He is also fluent in Russian and Romanian.
